In my opinion these phone companies are really making a ton of money off of people who think that their 6 month old shiny and pretty advanced piece of equipment is old, unreliable and has options that are from the Stone Age. ANYONE should be leery of brand new equipment and marketing that involves getting on the bandwagon to shell out hundreds of dollars for something that you can break easily and will marketed toward again in a few months to get something new.

Right now I have Verizon and a Blackberry - it does exceedingly more than I really need it to do and yes its cool. Obviously I cannot speak for the iPhone crowd but all I can say is to be hesitant (like you are Kenya) to switch providers because of something new. Look at the fine print and figure out if you will be really saving money.
